Nevada softball’s first-year pitching coach Carli Cutler isn’t a stranger to the Silver State.
“I was born in Vegas,” Culter said. “We moved to Reno when I was 6 months old, and then we moved to Fernley when I was about one-and-a-half. We moved to Susanville, Calif., in 2009, lived there from about 9 to 12 and moved to Rocklin, Calif., in 2012, and that’s where I went to high school.”
Cutler grew up going to Nevada softball camps at Hixson Park and envisioned suiting up in silver and blue. Instead, her softball journey took her east to the University of Connecticut. Cutler starred as a two-way player for the Huskies from 2017-20, starting in 161 of 164 games and batting .276 over four seasons.
