MEMPHIS, Tenn. (WMC) – Back on May 8th, 1925, Tom Lee saved over 30 people after a steamboat overturned on the Mississippi River.
Quincy Morris, the Executive Director of Klondike Smokey City CDC, said Lee didn’t even hesitate to jump into a boat and save people, despite not knowing how to swim.
Morris said that’s why they started looking for a way to honor Lee’s life…
