BUNCOMBE COUNTY, N.C. (WLOS) — At Sand Hill-Venable Elementary School, we caught up with second-grade teacher April Braxton as she was helping her students fill in the missing pieces of their vocabulary.
“Fundations” is a phonics activity to help second-graders tackle some tricky words. Braxton helps her students recognize words that are spelled differently but sound alike, such as “won” and “one” or “week” and “weak.”
