Man accused of assaulting High Point officer in custody; charged with harboring escapee

LEXINGTON, N.C. (WGHP) — A man who was wanted after being accused of assaulting a High Point Police Department officer is now in custody, according to the Lexington Police Department.

Andrew Michael Brackman, 31, of Winston-Salem, is accused in a warrant of “nearly striking” a High Point police officer with a car while driving away from being detained.

The warrant also accuses Brackman of helping a woman avoid being taken into custody despite the fact that he was aware there was a warrant for her arrest…
