FROSTPROOF, Fla. (WFLA) — Two drivers were killed in a fiery wrong-way crash in Polk County on Thursday night.
The Polk County Sheriff’s Office said the head-on crash happened in the southbound lanes on US Highway 27 near the Bay Street intersection in unincorporated Frostproof around 10 p.m.
Investigators said a Toyota Corolla driver was heading northbound in the southbound lane on US 27. At the same time, a Nissan Altima driver was headed south in the left southbound lane.
