The National Weather Service (NWS) has issued heat advisories for several counties in southern California for a short-duration heatwave expected on Friday and Saturday, May 9 and 10. Areas under advisory include Los Angeles and San Bernardino counties. Additional advisories are in place for parts of central California, including the southern Salinas Valley and Lake San Antonio.
The advisories will be in effect from 10:00 PDT on Friday to 21:00 PDT on Saturday. While coastal temperatures are expected to range from 21 to 27°C (70 to 80°F), inland valleys and interior regions could experience highs between 32 and 41°C (90 to 106°F).
Temperatures in some areas are forecast to be 4 to 9°C (7 to 16°F) above average. Woodland Hills could reach up to 37°C (99°F), while Burbank is expected to hit 35.5°C (96°F) on Saturday…
