Ribbon-cutting held for newly renovated Hope Lodge

CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCBD) – The American Cancer Society held a ribbon-cutting and dedication ceremony Friday at Charleston’s newly renovated Hope Lodge.

The facility, now officially named the Richard M. Schulze Family Foundation Hope Lodge, offers free lodging to cancer patients and their caregivers traveling to the Charleston area for treatment.

In 2024 alone, the Hope Lodge provided nearly 10,000 free nights of stay, saving patients and their families more than $1.3 million in lodging costs…
