Homeless man arrested after unwelcome return to Publix in Leesburg

A homeless man was arrested after his unwelcome return to a Publix grocery store in Leesburg.

An officer responded to Publix location at 10601 U.S. Hwy. 441, regarding a suspicious person, later identified as 25-year-old Robert John Beckelheimer, at 6 a.m. Monday, according to an arrest report from the Leesburg Police Department. Dispatch advised that an employee reported Beckelheimer sitting outside the store at a table on the property. He had previously been issued a trespass warning by law enforcement.

Upon arrival, the officer spoke to Beckelheimer. He then asked dispatch to check for prior trespass warnings and learned he had been issued one on April 30. As a result, Beckelheimer was told he was under arrest, the report said.

Beckelheimer became irate and started to yell obscenities toward law enforcement. He was still detained and taken to adult booking for processing where he continued to be uncooperative, the report said…
