STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — Adam Abuzahrieh and his team built C-Town at 1234 Castleton Ave. from a vacant storefront space, once home to a sign manufacturer. After two years of construction and a few months of business under their belts, the C-Town people want to say “thank you” to the neighborhood with a tasting event on Saturday, May 10.
The outdoor celebration will take place from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the store’s rear parking lot.
Abuzahrieh said his team wants to give back to the community. He appreciates the warm welcome the West Brighton grocery store has received from the immediate area, plus Randall Manor, Port Richmond and even Sunnyside.
“Vendors will be outside in our parking lot,’’ the shopkeeper said. ”We will have samples from Boars Head, Bimbo Bakery, Porky’s, Primo sausage, Tropical-brand cheese, Goya, plus beverage companies Pepsi, Coca-Cola, Big Geyser and more.”…
