CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — The Corpus Christi Fire Department honored members of its team Thursday for going above and beyond the call of duty, recognizing those who have shown exceptional dedication to saving lives.
Firefighters received awards for outstanding leadership and heroism during a special ceremony attended by department leaders, including Fire Chief Brandon Wade, and the families of those recognized.
“I had no idea,” CCFD Captain Homer Sierra said. “It’s nice to know my peers nominated me. I’m excited. I feel honored. I feel blessed. I wanted to be a firefighter my whole life, born and raised here in Corpus Christi. I’m doing what I wanted to do as a child, so this is great.”…
