WICHITA, Kan. (KWCH) – A 37-year-old man arrested earlier this week in connection with an incident on Sunday that involved a chase and crashes in south Wichita faces several charges that include aggravated battery on a law enforcement officer and kidnapping. The Sedgwick County Sheriff’s Office said that Thomas Torrez is known as a violent offender.
In a series of crimes connected with a stolen vehicle, using that vehicle to ram a deputy’s patrol car and a chase, Torrez is in the Sedgwick County Jail, held on a $500,000 bond. He was arrested on Tuesday after abandoning a stolen vehicle and fleeing on foot on Sunday.
