Vanderwagen man pleads guilty to assault after firing shots at victim’s RV

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) — A Vanderwagen man has pled guilty to assault and federal firearms charges after the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of New Mexico says he fired shots at a man, then threatened him during an argument. Perris Jeremiah Arthur, 36, is facing a minimum of seven years to life in prison, with up to five years of supervised release.

Court records show on May 1, 2023, Arthur started a confrontation at John Doe’s residence in Vanderwagen. Arthur went outside to get his rifle, fired two shots into the RV, and later pointed the weapon at John Doe.

The Farmington Resident Agency of the FBI Albuquerque Field Office investigated this case with help from the Navajo Nation Department of Investigation and Department of Criminal Investigations. Assistant United States Attorney Nicholas J. Marshall is prosecuting the case…
