Idaho mechanic faces deportation to country that won’t accept him: ‘Every country I’ve ever been in has thrown me away’

TWIN FALLS, Idaho — Binod Shah, a husband, father, and longtime Idaho resident, is currently being held at the Northwest ICE Processing Center in Tacoma, Washington.

“He’s an entrepreneur, he’s a father. He’s active in the church. He’s reformed himself. He’s done everything possible to do better,” said his wife Stephanie Shah.

Binod’s situation is not a typical deportation case. Though he was born in Bhutan, the country does not recognize him as a citizen…
