DALLAS — Neiman Marcus’ parent company, Saks Global, confirms some of its North Texas restaurant employees were overpaid in tips because of an error in the tipping system they use earlier this year, and the company is trying to recoup the money, sources confirm.
Saks Global didn’t confirm where the employees work or how much they were overpaid, but the more-than-century-old Downtown Dallas Neiman Marcus store, which was previously set to be closed earlier this year, also houses the long-popular Zodiac Room restaurant.
Saks Global says the employees were overpaid because of “an error within a third-party tipping system used in our restaurants” that led to their tips being erroneously doubled for a “short period of time.” Saks Global says employees were notified of the issue and provided options for repayment.
