Robin Pingeton adds a transfer guard that wants to bring New York grit to Wisconsin

Wisconsin women’s basketball head coach Robin Pingeton announced another transfer today. 5’7″ junior guard Breauna Ware from Stony Brook . This will be her third collegiate season and her third team in that time. She spent her freshman year at St. Bonaventure, starting eleven games and playing in 30. She averaged 6 points, 2.4 rebounds, and 1.8 assists in that true freshman year on 17.6 minutes a game.

Wisconsin announces the signing of Breauna Ware, transfer from Stony Brook

That freshman year set her up for greater success in Breauna Ware’s sophomore season when she transferred to Stony Brook and started 25 of the 29 games she played in. She averaged 14.7 points, 4 rebounds, and 2.2 assists per game. She was the leading scorer for Stony Brook in nine of the Seawolves’ games. She is known for her toughness in games and her ability to play with measured aggression.

She mentioned as much in Wisconsin’s press release after her signing. She said, “”I’m beyond excited and grateful to be a part of this program. I can’t wait to bring that NY grit to UW. Let’s work! Go Badgers!”…
