JACKSON, Miss. ( WJTV ) – Due to excessive rain and strong winds overnight, the Jackson Police Department (JPD) has received reports of downed trees and power lines across the capital city.
Police said they’re working to responded to the calls, and they asked the public to exercise caution. Several accidents involving downed trees and power lines have been worked by the department.
Drivers are encouraged to avoid traveling affected streets. They’re also asked to not ignore the barrels and barricades where downed trees and poles are located…
