Historic Rabbinic conference unites leaders in Boise

Boise, ID (CBS2) — History was made this weekend as over 65 rabbis and community leaders from across the Western United States gathered at the Chabad Jewish Center in Boise for a landmark event. According to Rabbi Mendel Lifshitz, the center’s director and spiritual leader, this marks the first Rabbinic Conference in Idaho’s history.

“The fact that Idaho was selected to host this year’s Rabbinic conference reflects the growth and vibrancy of our community,” said Rabbi Lifshitz.

The weekend featured a variety of activities, including lectures, prayers, training sessions, networking, and farbrengens. Rabbi Lifshitz explained, “Farbrengens are informal get-togethers at which songs are sung, stories told, and words of encouragement are shared. It’s an integral Chassidic tradition that allows the Rabbis to truly reflect inwardly and support each other.”…
