Blue Line back after 2 weeks of improvements

PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — The Blue Line is back

After a 2-week disruption east of the Gateway Transit Center , the MAX Blue Line resumed service between E. 172nd and the Cleveland Avenue MAX Station, TriMet announced.

Upgrades include more than 8000 feet of new overhead contact wire, improved reliability for the wires during high temperatures and a more durable rail crossing at NW 11 Mile Avenue, officials said.

The platforms between Gateway Transit Center and Cleveland Avenue also got a deep cleaning , with graffiti, litter and brush removed.
