TriMet completes East Burnside MAX improvements, Blue Line service resumes Sunday

PORTLAND, Ore. (KATU) — TriMet announced the completion of its East Burnside MAX Improvements Project, with construction wrapping up today after a two-week disruption to the MAX Blue Line east of the Gateway Transit Center.

Blue Line trains are set to resume service between E 172nd Ave and Cleveland Ave MAX Station on Sunday, May 11.

Since construction began on April 27, crews replaced more than 8,000 feet of overhead contact wire in both directions and installed an auto-tensioning system for the overhead wires to enhance reliability during high temperatures.
