Big Dreams, Small Payday for ‘Pawn Stars’ Guest Hawking Alice Cooper Gear

A recent episode of “Pawn Stars” saw a hopeful seller aiming for a $30,000 windfall with what he claimed was a complete stage outfit worn by rock legend Alice Cooper. The ensemble included overalls, a top hat, snakeskin boots, a staff t-shirt, and a mask. Shop owner Rick Harrison, intrigued by the items, especially the overalls with Cooper’s name stitched on the back, called in rock and roll expert Warwick Stone for an appraisal.

Unfortunately for the seller, Stone quickly poked holes in the claim. While acknowledging the potential authenticity of the custom-made boots, he emphasized the lack of photographic evidence linking the outfit to Cooper.

Without such proof, the value plummeted. The only item deemed genuinely connected to the rocker was the staff t-shirt, identified as worn by Cooper’s crew during a tour.

Stone offered $500 for the shirt, but Harrison, ever the shrewd negotiator, countered with $300. After some back and forth, they settled on $350 – a far cry from the seller’s initial $30,000 ask. While the seller walked away with significantly less than hoped, the episode served as a reminder of the importance of provenance when it comes to valuing memorabilia.
