COLUMBUS, Ohio ( WCMH ) — The number of bars in the United States dedicated to women’s sports is on the rise. From Phoenix to Austin, there will be more than a dozen open across the country before the year is over. Now, there are signs that the first women’s sports bar in Columbus could be taking shape.
This women’s sports bar boom coincides with a surge in interest in women’s college and professional sports, and in the near future we could have one in Columbus called Raise the Bar.
“I think the idea comes from wanting a place to go and watch women’s sports games,” said Raise the Bar founder Amy Cooper.
