Harry Claims “Secret Group” Controlled Meghan’s Royal Life

Additional Coverage:

Prince Harry’s ongoing feud with his family continues to make headlines, most recently with the loss of his lawsuit against the UK government over his security detail. The prince’s legal battle stems from the removal of his automatic state-funded security upon his and Meghan Markle’s departure from the UK in 2020.

After relocating to the United States, the couple’s security detail was withdrawn, a decision made by RAVEC, the government committee responsible for state-funded security. Harry believes this removal was a deliberate tactic of control and a major contributor to the ongoing rift with his family. He has stated that coming to this realization “was difficult to swallow.”

In late April, Prince Harry attended a two-day hearing at London’s Royal Courts of Justice to appeal the 2020 decision. His legal team argued that RAVEC deviated from standard procedure, subjecting Harry and Meghan to “unjustified, and inferior treatment.”

While the details of the courtroom proceedings remain private, Harry told People magazine that the legal disclosures confirmed his “worst fears.” He further hinted at undisclosed information, stating, “People would be shocked by what’s being held back.”

In early May, more details emerged. Harry revealed that the security issue predates his marriage to Meghan.

According to the prince, a “secretive committee” initially decided against providing security for Meghan upon her joining the royal family. Harry intervened and successfully reversed the decision.

Seven years later, however, the issue has resurfaced, leaving Harry in a similar predicament, but now with a significantly strained relationship with the royal family.
