A woman is suing Meghan Markle, Netflix, and Archewell Productions for damages exceeding $10 million, claiming she sustained severe burns after using a bath salts recipe featured in Markle’s Netflix series, “With Love, Meghan.” The plaintiff, Robin Patrick, alleges the recipe, which included Epsom salt, Himalayan salt, arnica oil, and lavender oil, caused “catastrophic burns” when she used it in a bath.
Patrick described experiencing a tingling sensation that intensified into a burning pain as the water level rose. She further reported that the burning sensation spread to her hand and arm when she later stirred the bathwater.
Despite attempts to alleviate the pain with lotion and lidocaine spray, Patrick claims she developed ulcers and continues to experience discomfort and the emergence of new sores. She expressed concerns about potential infection and other complications.
The lawsuit accuses Markle, Netflix, and Archewell Productions of “reckless disregard for public safety” and asserts that Markle had a “duty of care” to provide warnings about potential risks associated with using essential oils in bath salts. Patrick is seeking at least $75,000 for medical expenses and is open to an out-of-court settlement.
