Loneliness is a familiar feeling to many of us. Whether we’re missing a friend, experiencing homesickness or lacking community in the workplace, enduring lonely periods can be devastating and difficult. What’s especially tricky is the fact that this negative feeling of isolation can largely go unnoticed by those around us, because the signs and symptoms can be subtle.Cleveland Clinic psychologist Susan Albers, PsyD, knows how hard it can be to spot loneliness in others.
