LUBBOCK, Texas (KCBD) – A shift in the weather pattern over the Continental US will keep us dry, and return heat to the South Plains and West Texas area early this week.
High temperatures will peak in the 90s the next several afternoons with very mild 60s the next several mornings. Temperatures will peak about 8 to 10 degrees above average this afternoon and 12 to 13 degrees above average tomorrow and Wednesday afternoons.
The hottest day is expected Tuesday with highs in the Lubbock area in the mid-90s and nearing 100 degrees in the lower elevations of the Rolling Plains east of the Caprock. The heat may approach record highs for the date Tuesday and Wednesday.
