AUGUSTA, Ga. (WJBF) – The Richmond County Sheriff’s Office is rolling out its 2025 fleet of new patrol vehicles.
The RCSO’s Ford Interceptors with 3.0L EcoBoost V6 engines feature 45-degree angled lightbars and dual 400-watt sirens. According to the sheriff’s office, the vehicles will be issued to deputies on a performance-style basis, rather than seniority.
“While we still have a long road ahead with an aging fleet—some vehicles over 15 years old—we are committed to modernization,” the sheriff’s office said in a Facebook post Monday, May 12. “National standards recommend replacing patrol vehicles every five years, and we’re working hard to get there.”…
