Probe launched into possible excessive force used by RPD officer investigating noise complaint

READING, Pa. – Reading Police are investigating one of their own after complaints about alleged unnecessary use of force were brought to the city’s attention.

According to court documents, the RPD officer at the center of the controversy says he responded to the 100 block of Douglass Street for a noise complaint around 7 p.m. on Friday, May 9th.

He says he could hear loud music from the street and told the man at the house where it was coming from that it was too loud and that constituted a crime…
