Rockwall County Invites Public to Shape Sheriff’s Office Modernization with ARPA Funds

Rockwall County is set to modernize the Sheriff’s Office, and tomorrow, the county will hold a pivotal workshop at the Historic Courthouse, where the public can weigh in. The 2 PM meeting, announced by the county, will serve as a platform for residents to provide input on a project earmarked for American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) funds.

The financial strategy for the remodel, heralded by the lack of need for loans or tax hikes, stems from the ARPA’s provisions. Commissioner John Stacy highlighted the county’s growth and the need for robust public safety infrastructure. “This project has been a long time coming, and there is genuine excitement throughout the county as we begin this remodel to provide our deputies with the space they need to keep us safe,” Stacy stated, according to Rockwall County’s official release.

Planned improvements include repurposing existing spaces for operational efficiency.
