STONEWALL, La. – A developer who wants to build an apartment complex in Stonewall will go before the Town Council Tuesday night to plead his case after a zoning waiver request was denied two months ago.
Joey Lawler with Lawler Construction sent the Town Council an 18-page letter that includes a more detailed breakdown of the proposed project, letters of support from other communities and comparable square-foot pricing to homes in existing neighborhoods. Lawler seeks to address concerns expressed by citizens who spoke unanimously in opposition to the plans at the Stonewall Planning/Zoning Commission meeting in April.
As a result, the commission voted not to recommend Lawler’s waiver request to the Town Council. The request is needed to allow for changes in the spacing requirements necessary for an apartment complex…
