SPRINGFIELD, Mo. — The Springfield Police Department are inviting citizens to a motorcycle safety course called Share The Road.
This police are offering a one-day course with additional course dates for later in the year.

The event will offer tips on advanced riding techniques, motorcycle handling, object avoidance and other various techniques to aid drivers to be safe while traveling on the road.
The police say that drivers will be required to have the following qualifications and equipment to participate in the course:
- A valid motorcycle endorsement (not a permit)
- A motorcycle (250cc or greater, no three-wheel variety). All motorcycles must have legal exhaust and legal handlebars (i.e., no “ape hangers”). All motorcycles must be street legal and subject to inspection.
- Motorcycle insurance
- A legal DOT approved helmet
- Eye protection
- Footwear that covers the ankles
- Proper motorcycle attire
- Optional equipment – armored or padded motorcycle gear
- Signed liability waiver
The first course session is at noon on Saturday, May 17 with later course dates on June 14, Sept. 6 and Oct. 11. To apply for a session, visit their website…
