Take a look inside the new Gatsby-inspired hotel suite in downtown Louisville

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — The historic Seelbach Hotel in downtown Louisville has a newly transformed suite perfect to transport guests back to the 1920s, and our partners at Louisville Business First got a look inside.

The room is inspired by F. Scott Fitzgerald’s The Great Gatsby on the 100th anniversary of the classic novel. According to The Seelbach’s website, Fitzgerald was stationed at Camp Taylor and would spend available weekends visiting the Seelbach for bourbon and cigars.

During his time visiting, Fitzgerald met a Cincinnati mobster, George Remus, who became the inspiration for “Jay Gatsby” in the book. It’s also said the Seelbach’s Grand Ballroom was the backdrop for Tom and Daisy Buchanan’s wedding reception, also featured in the novel…
