Save your disposable income for an omelet. San Antonio’s Hemisfair has released a full lineup of summer activities that won’t deflate the wallet, including free movie nights, dance parties, and brunch markets.
On May 13, the downtown park revealed a full slate of complimentary activities starting June 3. The biggest news is the return of Movies by Moonlight, family- and pet-friendly screenings happening every Tuesday in June and July. The schedule coincides with Downtown Tuesdays, San Antonio’s program offering free parking on any city lot after 5 pm.
This year, the film series sniffed out a canine theme with Dog Days of Summer, rolling out a schedule of some of Hollywood’s most beloved dog-themed movies. The full lineup includes:
- June 3: Lady and the Tramp
- June 10: 101 Dalmatians (live action)
- June 17: Bolt
- June 24: Clifford the Big Red Dog (live action)
- July 1: Homeward Bound: The Incredible Journey
- July 8: Scooby-Doo: The Movie (2002)
- July 15: Air Bud
- July 22: A Goofy Movie
- July 29: Best in Show
Locals who want a more energetic evening can check out Disco Alfresco, a rebrand of Alamo City’s popular SoundCream Sunset Sessions. On Thursdays from 7-10 pm, June 5-July 31, Hemisfair’s grounds will ignite with global beats from top deejays. Talent for the frenzied event will be announced online soon…
