SPOKANE, Wash. – When choosing a car for your teenage driver, p arents need to consider a balance between cost and safety. That’s why C onsumer Reports and the I nsurance I nstitute for H ighway Safety teamed up to create a list of new and used cars best suited for teen drivers.
“I t’s almost like this Goldilocks of cars that are great for crash avoidance and crash protection,” said J ennifer Stockburger, the Director of O perations at C onsumer Reports Auto Test Center.
Consumers Reports has created this list for the last five years. And it’s no surprise the cars on their list consider safety first, because data shows teens have crash rates nearly four times as high as older drivers…
