FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) — When Fort Wayne City Council voted 5-3 in favor of purchasing the North River property for $4.6 million in November 2017, even those who voted in favor of the deal did not look at it too favorably.
“It was one of those deals [where] it looks really bad right now,” said former At-large Councilman John Crawford in 2017.
Aside from Crawford and Tom Didier, the three other councilmembers to vote in favor of the purchase — Paul Ensley, Geoff Paddock and Tom Freistroffer — still represent City Council, and for the first time since the 2017 vote, the North River property was again formally presented before them during Tuesday’s meeting…
