Greenville Women Giving awards $508K to seven nonprofits

Seven nonprofit organizations in Greenville County recently received grant funding from Greenville Women Giving.

A total of $508,250 in grant funding was awarded to local organizations focused on arts, education, environment, health and human resources. Greenville Women Giving announced the 2025 grant recipients at its annual meeting on May 13.

The 2025 grantees by category are:

  • Arts: Greenville Theatre
  • Education: Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Upstate
  • Environment: Conestee Foundation
  • Health: New Morning
  • Human Services: Project Host, Rebuild Upstate and Triune Mercy Center

The Greenville Theatre received $50,000 to replace the facility’s timeworn stage flooring. The flooring was last replaced in 1967. The project will be completed by August 2025, before the start of the theatre’s 100th anniversary season.

Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Upstate is a nonprofit that provides one-on-one mentorship for youth in Greenville County. The organization received a $66,250 grant from Greenville Women Giving to launch a new approach to childhood trauma intervention and add 70 new mentors to work with 250 local youth.

The Conestee Foundation owns and operates the Conestee Nature Preserve, a 640-acre wildlife sanctuary in Greenville. The nonprofit organization received a $100,000 grant to reconnect the park’s Green Loop trail following the destruction of the existing boardwalk caused by Hurricane Helene.

New Morning, a nonprofit that leads a contraceptive-access program, received $90,000 from Greenville Women Giving. The funding will support the organization’s six clinics in Greenville County, providing contraceptive services to low-income and uninsured women.

Project Host is a soup kitchen and outreach program located in downtown Greenville. The nonprofit will use the $52,000 grant from Greenville Women Giving to serve an additional 5,250 meals to people facing food insecurity.

Rebuild Upstate, a nonprofit organization focused on preserving affordable housing, received $100,000 to provide home repairs for 40 low-income homeowners. The repairs are expected to be completed over a two-year period.

Triune Mercy Center is a local nondenominational church that provides services to people experiencing homelessness. The organization received $50,000 from Greenville Women Giving to purchase and install outdoor security cameras at its facility in downtown Greenville…
