KISSIMMEE, Fla. — Kissimmee’s downtown will see a transformation starting next summer, intended to create a more walkable and safer downtown environment.
Construction for the Connect Kissimmee Project is supposed to begin in summer 2026 following a recent approval on April 6 by the Kissimmee Commission for a two-phase project, which will leave the city’s downtown with more walking space for residents and tourists alike.
“The mindset behind it is essentially to create a complete streets project which will accommodate all users or create a more walkable downtown area,” Kissimmee Public Works Director Ashley Willis said. “This project is essentially for all users of the roadway.
