Group wants Temple University prosecuted for dog’s death, falsified records

An anti-animal experimentation group wants the federal government to prosecute Temple University for a “botched procedure” that led to a dog’s death and other infractions that “scream negligence.”

The Ohio-based nonprofit watchdog Stop Animal Exploitation Now! (SAEN) has requested that the U.S. Department of Agriculture investigate and prosecute Temple University in Philadelphia for violating the Animal Welfare Act.

Besides euthanizing one dog following a procedure, Michael Budkie, SAEN’s executive director and co-founder, said in a statement that Temple researchers failed to provide the dog with an IV, dropped another dog onto the floor and falsified records…
