Toledo testing confirms contaminants did not enter raw water near hazardous material landfill

TOLEDO, Ohio (WTVG) – Some good news about that contamination found around Toledo’s raw water supply. It was discovered as plans progressed to put in a new supply line. New test results confirm the contamination did not get into the water.

The issue is near Oregon at Envirosafe. The contamination that was located brought on many questions about where the project goes from here. So far it’s all on track.

A 78-inch water line buried underground carries raw lake water from the city’s intake, to the Collins Park water treatment plant. As plans began to build a new line, contaminants were found near that supply line that runs under this hazardous material landfill called Envirosafe. Further testing has confirmed none of the contaminates go into the actual water…
