OREGON — On May 9 at approximately 4:59 p.m. deputies responded to a two-vehicle accident at the intersection of Illinois Route 251 and Maple Avenue. An initial investigation determined a Kia Sportage, driven by Mario A Castro, 31, of Rochelle was traveling northbound on Illinois Route 251 before beginning to turn onto Maple Avenue. A Chevy Suburban, driven by Quinton Horton, 36, of Rockford, struck the Kia on the driver’s side of the vehicle. Both vehicles came to rest off the northwest side of the roadway. Castro was later transported to the Rochelle Community Hospital with minor injuries. After further investigation, Horton was placed under arrest for driving while license revoked. Horton was transported to the Ogle County Jail, where he was released on a notice to appear and given a future court date. Horton was additionally cited for failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident. Ogle County deputies were assisted by Rochelle EMS.
On May 9 at approximately 5:48 p.m. deputies responded to 15602 E. Lindenwood Road in reference to a violation of an order of protection. After investigation, deputies placed Blaine Henley, 44, of Franklin Grove under arrest for violation of an order of protection. Henley was transported to the Ogle County Jail where he was held pending a court appearance in front of a judge.
On May 10 at approximately 10:39 p.m. deputies conducted a traffic stop near the intersection of Illinois Route 38 and Mulford Road. After investigation, Jose L Barraza, 59, Rochelle, was placed under arrest for driving under the influence of alcohol. Barraza was transported to the Ogle County Jail where he was subsequently charged with driving under the influence of alcohol with a BAC over .08.
