ROCKFORD, Ill. (WIFR) – The Stateline’s taste of summer continued for a fourth day Tuesday, and the warmth is set to stick around for at least the next several days.
Things did, at times, turn a bit unsettled Tuesday, particularly in the afternoon, as widely scattered showers and thunderstorms developed over roughly 20% of the Stateline. Those showers and storms are largely extinct Tuesday evening, and a clearing trend is to immediately ensue.
However, as winds diminish overnight, it’s likely that fog will develop across much of the Stateline. Come early Tuesday morning, visibility over much of the area will have fallen well under a mile, and impacts on the morning commute are entirely possible.
Fog should lift by mid to late morning Wednesday, and a good deal of sun is likely to follow, which will likely push our temperatures back into the lower 80s.
Once again, though, clouds will begin to bubble and a few isolated to widely scattered showers and thunderstorms may very well percolate in the afternoon. Similar to Tuesday, we’ll expect most of us to remain dry for most of the day, but any showers that do manage to develop may produce brief downpours.
Skies will clear once again Wednesday night, and fog may attempt to develop, though there should be enough wind to preclude any widespread dense fog…
