EUGENE, Ore. — Two decades in the making, the Real ID Act finally made it to the finish line at airports across the country on May 7, and the TSA says repeated delays in enforcement gave more people time to prepare.
About 81-percent of passengers have been Real ID compliant as of that May 7 enforcement date, according to TSA. That means there’s less likely to be delays at your TSA screening at the airport.
“We’re finding extremely high compliance rates both within our general screening population as well as our TSA Pre-Check population, so we’re very pleased with how things went.
