2 of McMinnville woman’s wolfdogs sent to sanctuary; another 2 will go home once she pays fees

The McMinnville owner of four hybrid wolfdogs that escaped in March and killed three pets must give two of the animals up and sterilize the other two, a municipal court judge ruled last month.

McMinnville police cited Sandra Atwood, 41, on 22 counts, including dog running at large and dog as public nuisance, following the March 7 incident when her four dogs escaped her backyard. Two of them were caught relatively quickly, she has said, but the other two travelled more than a mile and are believed to be the ones that killed a pet dog and two pet cats.

The incident enraged a swath of McMinnville residents, not least because there had been complaints about Atwood’s dogs and property for years, and many wrote to the city council to voice their concerns…
