SPOKANE, Wash. – A new task force focusing on public safety and behavioral health might soon be established in Spokane County.
The proposal was introduced during a Spokane County Commissioner’s board meeting on Tuesday. Spokane County Sheriff John Nowels said the task force would offer recommendations to county commissioners on various issues, including criminal justice and behavioral health.
“I think this is the best way to get everybody on the boat instead of being bifurcated between the cities and county and everything like that,” Nowels said. “I think this is the best way to get everyone on board and say this is what has to happen.”…
