Council for the Homeless braces for federal budget cuts

CLARK COUNTY, Wash. (KPTV) – With major federal budget cuts looming, including those to housing insecurity, assistance programs, and homelessness, communities across the Pacific Northwest and partnering organizations are bracing for a potentially devastating impact on the thousands of residents living on or below the poverty line.

Local non-profit organization, Council for the Homeless, is among those that helps thousands of Clark County families annually try and find those key services and support systems. CEO, Sesany Fennie-Jones, and COO, Sunny Wonder, estimate the upcoming unprecedented removal of aid to be in the tens of millions of dollars.

“This is about live or die, if we had an additional 3,500 people that were on the streets today, that would be devastating, and people would die,” Fennie-Jones said…
