A Greater Cincinnati woman stands accused of domestic violence and animal cruelty following a video that circulated on social media. According to Local12, the footage ostensibly showed Kaitlin Conklin, a resident of Lemon Township, physically assaulting her boyfriend and choking his dog before throwing the animal to the ground. The Butler County Sheriff’s Office was made aware of the video on Monday and quickly responded by visiting the home on Buena Avenue.
After gathering evidence and speaking to the involved parties, deputies placed the 28-year-old under arrest, charging her with the said misdemeanors. In a statement obtained by WLWT, Sheriff Richard Jones deemed the behavior “unacceptable,” vowing to “always pursue charges when the evidence supports it.” The charges are also to be filed with coordination from the Butler County Sheriff’s Office Dog Wardens through Middletown Municipal Court.
