4-ton tater travels to Richmond in cross-country truck tour

RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) — A truck carrying a colossal-sized potato made a stop in Richmond on Tuesday as part of a cross-country tour.

The Famous Idaho Potato Tour truck made a stop near Jason’s Deli, located at 7115 Forest Hill Avenue, on Tuesday, May 13, where travelers and residents could ogle at the enormous starchy vegetable in wonder.

According to The Famous Idaho Potato Tour’s website, the potato truck is on its 13th cross-country journey.

The potato tour first began in 2012 as a one-year campaign to celebrate the 75th anniversary of the Idaho Potato Commission — however, with its success, it would continue to tour the United States year after year…
