STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — A 31-year-old man who shot at police in Port Richmond on Sunday night had, minutes before, fled two traffic stop attempts, according to the NYPD.
Just before 7:30 p.m. the motorist behind the wheel of a silver Nissan SUV allegedly fled a traffic stop attempt in the vicinity of Forest Avenue and South Avenue in Mariners Harbor, a spokesperson for the NYPD’s Deputy Commissioner of Public Information said. After the suspect fled the first attempted stop, a second NYPD vehicle attempted to halt the fleeing suspect, which the suspect skirted, police allege.
