Man takes plea deal in fatal shooing of woman in 2020

ST. LOUIS — A St. Louis man accepted a plea deal in exchange for a reduced sentence in connection with the deadly shooting of a 20-year-old woman in 2020.

John Albert, 28, received a 10-year prison sentence as part of a plea agreement in connection with the shooting death of Carmen Pawnell. Albert was originally charged with first-degree murder and four other felonies, but agreed to enter a guilty plea to involuntary manslaughter and two counts of child endangerment.
