Man appears in Palmer court for arraignment in connection to Wasilla teen’s fatal overdose

ANCHORAGE, Alaska (KTUU) – A man facing murder charges for what prosecutors say was his involvement in a Wasilla teen’s death appeared in a Palmer courtroom on Tuesday for his arraignment after a preliminary hearing was vacated on Monday.

45-year-old Sean Mobley is facing manslaughter and first-degree misconduct involving a controlled substance on top of the second-degree murder charge for allegedly providing 16-year-old Alena Toennis with fentanyl, which, according to charging documents, was the leading cause of her death.

Mobley’s bail has been set at $750,000, and the trial is scheduled to begin on July 7. Some of Toennis’ family were also present in court on Tuesday…
