Woman accused of setting Sacramento homeless woman on fire, kicking her before running away

SACRAMENTO, Calif. — A woman is behind bars after allegedly setting a homeless woman on fire in South Sacramento.

The Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office said deputies and fire crews responded after a woman was set on fire around 9:30 p.m. on April 26. It happened in the area of 17th Avenue and Stockton Boulevard.

The victim, a 49-year-old homeless woman, was taken to the hospital with burns covering about a third of her body, including her face, torso, arms and back. She was intubated for several days, unable to speak…
